The Problem
Information relevant to a given area — events, traffic, safety, local activities — is scattered across many different sources, or doesn’t circulate at all beyond closed groups.
Target Audience
People who want to quickly find out or share what’s happening in their area — events, alerts, local recommendations — organized visually, on a map, rather than in an unsorted text feed.
How It Works
Pinyap displays posts on an interactive map, filterable by category (traffic, events, community, food and drink, public safety) and by time range (now, today, this week, this month, or a custom range). Users can publish geographically anchored posts directly. The screenshot above shows the actual map, with a public event displayed live (“The Wailers playing in Bucharest”).
Core Modules
- interactive map with post clustering by area;
- filtering by category (Traffic, Events, Food & Drink, Community, Public Safety);
- filtering by time range (Now, Today, Week, Month, Date, Range);
- publishing new, geographically anchored posts (“Post”);
- notifications (bell icon visible in the interface).
The Product Challenge
A platform built on community contribution needs a critical mass of active users in an area to be useful — the main challenge is local adoption, not technical. The category- and map-based structure (rather than a simple chronological feed) is the answer to this challenge: the information stays useful even with a moderate volume of posts.
General Architecture
Web application with an interactive map (based on OpenStreetMap, per the attribution visible in the interface), with geolocated posts and real-time category/time filtering.
Security and Operations
Posts are public by design (the nature of the platform). Content moderation for sensitive categories (public safety) is not publicly detailed — we do not present unconfirmed moderation mechanisms.
Integrations
OpenStreetMap for the base map.
Existing vs. In-Development Features
Confirmed directly on pinyap.com: the interactive map, category and time filtering, post publishing, notifications. There is no confirmed public roadmap for future features.
Leadpro’s Involvement
Pinyap is developed and operated by Leadpro — a platform built to validate a geospatial, community-driven product model at a local scale.
Status
Publicly available — the platform is live and public at pinyap.com.
